I know why,
cauz i started in 2003…
me too! its like an addiction…i really gotta stop. Too many pairs…bought a pair of SuperFly G5’s a few weeks ago as well…
Dammit!!! I was bidding against you!!!
not that I’m gonna go over to your house and kick your ass, but I wish I could.
Man I wanted those spikes so bad, and you got them for $1 more than I could pay (I don’t know how to make a crying face )
Oh come on !!
spikes are just ways of fly,
i mean,
your tires, just that…
Guys,
there´s a strange “rule” on the track where i train,
so, they ( the guard employees ) are always asking to the sprinters…
can´t use the track wearing spikes ( pin spikes ).
Well, i don´t know what should i do,
i tryed to say that for a sprinter, run wearing conventional shoes is like
a tennis player using a table tennis racket but i guess they don´t understand the message.
I tryed my actual spikes without pins but it doesn´t work ( horrible ).
There´s other places where i can train wearing spikes, but far from home.
So, i´m thinking in buy some “convetional shoes” but with a special structure, i mean, a spike that is not a spike.
So, what should i look for a kind of shoes like this ?!
Weight ? Sole ?
Today i saw in a sports store some Adidas nices shoes like
Adidas Tuscany ( Goodyear )
Adidas Original X-Country ( Fine-tuned on the track in the '80s, the X-Country kept its fast, lightweight design and gained a walkable outsole for style and speed, aggressive track-spike inspired outsole ).

You know my option Fly… Adidas powersprint 2 - Flats… just like mine they’re just like a spike, but no spikes, and they feel really nice. No shin splints with those babies!!!
I just received my new Mizuno Tokyo’s, my gawd, I had never seen anything as beautiful in my life. It was love at first sight! I’d go mad if I go to a real spikes store somewhere. Here in Argentina the only spikes you can get in stores are crappy Nike Zoom Shifts, some prehistoric Adidas spikes (those white ones with purple and red stripes and a purple sockliner inside), and sometimes those old yellow fila’s. So seeing a spike of this quality in person for the first time in my life was a shock!
hello all, im in tokyo right now!!
just bought my new Mizuno Chrono dash spike!!! paid full price but iiiiii dont care!! these things are soo light they nearly float out of ur hand…
i had such a crap time finding them too, have been in 3 cities on my sellout japanese tour, and finally found the offical mizuno store in tokyo. trouble was in all the other cities noone had my size (japanese 28.5)
gonna go back to my hotel now and dance around in them
in the nude heheh
You’ve got to get out more! (But, not till you’ve finished the dance please!)
Do you know if the store has a website? Ive been trying to find them in the US with no luck.
I have some Puma Cellerator’s for sessions on a hard or synthetic track where I don’t want to use spikes or the surface is not apt for spikes. I’ve found them great for doing accels sessions on an asphaltic carpet “track” or as a “spike” for intensive tempo type work - a use which is useless for me now but was useful with my previous training group. The name of the shoe is just coincidence because they sell it as a “cool all terrain shoe”, but when I saw it in the store I knew its real intended use .
Here the only pic I’ve found on the net so far :
http://www.temueves.com/material.asp?codi=1783
Here’s what I’m wearing on the track when I’m not in my spikes, or jogging in my shox…
hmm www.mizuno.co.jp is a good start…then u gotta decipher the katakana and hiragana…
the suburb in tokyo is called ochanomizu
cheers
I gotta pair o them too Al - had em a while and they’re still in good shape - agreed - theyre great as a half way step between trainers and spikes
Alex,
do you have a pic from sole ?
How much does it cost ? Same as spike spin version ?
Thanks… I will look around.
Can any of you recommend a flexible plate spike? I successfully managed to strain my achilles a couple of weeks ago wearing the adidas demolishers. I don’t want to take a chance with these again.
You can get more info on Mizuno Spikes in english at-
