but anyway, my point is addressed to why sprinters seem to be so light yet so huge!
you answered it yourself… low body fat
sweet, sounds like fun
That seems to be one of the hardest things to do, get your bodyfat down. I have really struggled with it. I am around 187cm and 2 years ago weighed around 86kg, I am now 77kg but I don’t really notice any difference looking in the mirror. I know that’s partly cos I see myself everyday etc, but if someone would have asked me what I would look like 9kg lighter I would have said ripped, but clearly not!!! My strength has hardly dropped so I can’t see that I would have lost much muscle mass. Any tips? I guess this may be in the wrong section, but I have read through the nutrition discussions.
how did u get your body fat down? dieting or did it with come with effects on metabolism through training?
i’m not convinced my bodyfat has dropped that much. i have a vague 6 pack outline, but definitely what you would call ripped. i did it through diet-there was no secret to what i did, just cut out crap 99% of the time and did my best to cut down on portion sizes. i have started drinking more coffee i guess which may have helped. i have tried fat burners, carnitine and cla, but not convinced they really did anything for me. not convinced changing training to a more aerobic or interval type programme has helped either. my problem is every now and then i will binge on sweet stuff, like a cheesecake or something like that, maybe every 2-3 weeks. but in between those binges i have become a lot better.
you should have had a Skinfold assessment done then hey! found out your Lean mass, then re=do the skin fold now and find out your lean mass now. That will tell you how much you need to loose.
Also, i was around 86kg too. im now 72.5kg, and have not lost more than 1kg in Lean mass. its been 90% FAT. My arms are starting to get Lean looking, and ripped. Would be easier Now to actually gain say 2kg of lean muscle mass than to loose another 2kg of Fat. What i mean is, if i lost 2kg more fat, i would start to ‘look’ too lean, but if i gained 2kg in lean mass, then i would start to look more ripped. If you get my point?
Gentlemen gentlemen…check out Clarence Bass, do a search for Ripped, the best of the sries is RIPPED 3. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Also, the diet he espouses is high enough in carbs for a sprinter. Its just whether you are commando enough to stick it out…it works. Just replace the aerobic with tempo work and you are fine. Train as normal of course but use the diet fully.

Gonna order it now!!! Maybe I can have that beach body for next year Gotta give up Starbucks though, those white caffe mochas are a killer!!
just waiting for the dispatch date!!!
Diet is definately the biggest thing in my opinion. Last year I had a very aerobic training program I was under and this year I dropped 5 lbs of pretty much fat because of eating better. Last year I couldn’t get a 6 pack no matter how hard I tried and now I have one.
its wierd how asafa is 190cm in height and only 180lbs
dont yall tell me hes at 5% bodyfat cuz hes not.
its all really wierd i must say
Who says asafa is 180? I haven’t heard under 190 from anybody, including people in his group and people who’ve seen him up close (that is of course from the last couple years,f not before then). A lot of the listed weights are off a bit or old (from when they were much younger or just entering the higher levels).
He’s not 180 pounds.
190cm, 88kg = 6’2", 194 pounds
Have you also considered the effects of cortisol from insufficient recovery?
I’ve read the first two books, but was disappointed with the 2nd one. I didn’t think it added much to the first book. How much of an improvement is the 3rd in the series?
IN what, making you look bigger?
