‘Gloop, did u buy the Chrono Dash spikes online? If so, where?’
Soz Neo - it was in the jog shop in Brighton - stock clearance I think - they’d been hangin around for a while and had a slow week I think .
Gotta say tho I’d happily stump up the full price now I’ve tried em out -
I’m gonna keep em for speed end and comps tho - quite apart from making em last - they take ages to strap urself into between reps and that could be quite bugging on a high rep day .
I can safely say that the use of spike crowns is a completely personal option. I personally don’t like them as i feel that i am too high on my toes, and it doesn’t feel quite right. But works for one doesn’t necessarily work for the next person

Does anyone use the spike crowns, I see them on the zoom superfly and other brands. Just like all your opinions, good or bad.
Thanks.:help:
I have a tendency to over-pronate, so I use the spike crowns only on the inner part of the plate. This adds a bit of height there and help keep me from rolling over as much. Kind of like an external orthotic.
That’s right - carbon fibre permanent spikes - not a problem if ur only using them for comps as they’re gonna last -
they’re not sharp and I must admit they felt a bit weird first time I put them on the block spike plate - being used to shallow xmas trees
soon get used to them tho .
guys,i think they are all the same.the main objective is to make sure you are achieving maximum grip.once that is in order you’re fine.
reebok had specific metal spikes for sale stating they can enhance sprinting ability by avoiding the actual spike from getting imbedded into the track and rebounding off the surface faster.personnally i think its crap.the only way you will get imbedded into the track is if you have 12mm spikes in your shoes

Does anyone have any experience with the Adidas Powersprint? My local sports store is selling the 2002 model (red and black) cheap at the moment.
I do, they’re not too bad a spike, but the one thing i found was that i couldn’t run tall in them as i found them a bit too stiff. Though the more i wore them, the more flexible they got. If i were you, i’d get the newer ones, far easier to get on your toes in them-though if money’s an issue i wouldn’t bother…
Terminator I own the Mizuno tokyo. All i can say is awesome! They’re flexible enough to flex with your foot, yet stable enough to keep you on your toes-and they’re light too 190gms (don’t know what that is in Oz)
To be perfectly honest with you terminator, I would be more inclined to go toward the mizuno tokyos (not just cos i have a pair) but purely on the grounds that, they’re a wee bit lighter than the powersprints, but slightly more stable too. The bonus with this is that they’re £60 full price!!
I was told the christmas tree spikes are to be used with mondo tracks because it rebounds off of it better. I still don’t use them though, they make me feel like i’m sticking in the track also. I like to use 1/8 in needles.
