I have been using nikes for a loooooooooooong time and i just got the mizuno geo spark 3… OH MAN im in love, never going back. there so light and the plate feels great… 100% satisfaction.

Welcome to the Mizuno Family my child! May your sprinting experience be a blessed one!

they seem kinda stiff… like the upper. will that go away…?? (geo spark 3)

Which of these spikes is the best?:

-mizuno tokyo 2
-mizuno tokyo (and which model/year)
-mizuno chrono dash
-mizuno geo spark 3 (the red and blue one)

Also are all of these best to only use for competition or can you use any of these for both training or competition?

their all amaizing spikes… the chrono dash have a carbon fiber plate with molded spikes so you cant replace them, so you could only use the shoes a hand full of times before their no good. other then that they others should be ok for comp and training.

Only a handful of times? The spikes are supposed to be made of tungsten, which supposedly (reported by them and forum members here) outlasts the spikes themselves!

One more thing…anyone know the differences between the tokyo 2’s and the tokyo’s? Are they better or just newer?

Oh and does anyone know how the size of asics spikes compares to mizuno?

No one has any info or opinions?

That spike plate on the Chrono Dash looks weird…and like it would be really stiff. Does anyone know how it actually is? Does it help?

or

most of mizunos spikes are gona have a fairly stiff plate anyways. I personally have the geo spark 3 (red and blue) and it is the best shoe I have ever put on. its so light and fits like a glove. The plate on the chrono dash is a molded plate so the spikes arent removeable, depending on the amount of money you have you may want to steer away from that shoe. its about 160 americsn dollars and some tracks may not let you use them if the spikes are to long.

MIZUNO OWNS ALL… then end

Actually I found a place that has all of those spikes under $65 (including the chrono dash).

And does anyone know how sizes compare between asics and mizuno?

what site? i looked for a while to get them under 100 and the closest i got was 120 and they didnt have my size

Out of all the Mizuno there,go for the Chrono Dash (ones with fixed pins). I have the latest model from Japan (Chrono SS). The plate and lightness of the spike is in another league. Chrono all the way.

I have the Chrono Dash (ones with the “different” plate)…they are definately weird. I ran my PR 55m in them. They feel great for the early acceleration phase but I thought they altered my mechanics too much at top speed so I never used them for 100m.

I have chrono dash and tokyo. Like em both, but chrono better. Spike plate on chrono is more flexible than it looks. I like them for straight sprints and hurdles. I don’t use them when running a turn.

I think I’ll go with the chrono dash…but I might try and get a second pair (of a different spike) since the prices are pretty good.

and the site is dickpondathletics.com under the close outs

superfly g5 for $20, too, I checked out of curiosity, but only 2 sizes

Anybody out there ever try a Mizuno Geo Sniper for long sprints/hurdles?

Geo Spark 3’s over at www.eastbay.com selling for about $40.00 I think I may have to go with these, since it is a flexible spike plate (moreso than rigid), and I am primarily a 400m runner. I have always been a Nike spike user, but it may end soon enough…
