Goals and PR's for upcoming season

I’m just curious. What are everyones goals and prs going into the new track season?

Mine is a top 5 finish in Ontario for submasters 30-34.

Going to be tough several guys running high 10s FAT for the 100meter.

6.3 FAT 55. If I have to run in cross trainers 6.5 and if I have to run in torn but taped Nikes with the spikes taken out 6.4.

4x100 relay State Championship

14.55 in TJ
6.90 in LJ
sub 11 in 100
ofsaa gold in LJ/TJ
national title in TJ

To race for the first time!

In terms of times it’s to go sub 11.00 and sub 22.00 (electronic of course) in the first half of the season. By the end of the year sub 10.84 and sub 21.74.

In terms of accomplishments I’m aiming to make sub-23 Nationals in 100m. and 200m. which are 15-16 May. To be part of the squad I have to be among the top 4 in my state, at the moment with right under 11.10 and 22.50 I’d make it, there is time till late April to make those marks, and of course some of the other guys could improve and bring the bar higher. The goal there would be to make one of the finals, in particular in 200 with something close to 22 flat I’ll be in contention for a spot.

Then the “dream” goals would be to make nationals in an event which are 5-6 June. For my state at the moment the 4th best in 100m. has 10.91 and the 4th best in 200m. has 22.11, but it’s very likely that the 100m. standard will end up around 10.80 and the 200m. around 21.80 (some guys haven’t run FAT times, others that could make it have been injured, etc, just one of those coming back and posting the times they have posted in years past would take the standard higher). I’m not making any illusions about this though, to make it, things would have to go perfectly, it can happen, but I don’t think it’s prudent to set any goals where things go perfectly, that rarely happens.

For the second half of the year my goals in terms of competitions would be to make the finals in some of the important tournaments, in particular in 200m. Also to make it my clubs “A” relay for the National Cup of Clubs (30-31 October), but that will be hard, we have guys at 10.51, 10.63, 10.77 and 10.79 as our 4 best sprinters, but anything can happen, in particular since 3 of those guys have been slacking off the last year or so - the 10.63 guy didn’t train much this year and did 10.90 as his best, ditto for the 10.77 who barely did 10.95 and ditto the 10.79 guy who only did 11.05, so if I’m in top form and they aren’t I’ll get the nod to defend our honor (we have won the 4x100 9/10 last editions, except this year where our club got DQed) and see if we can get a new club best (sub 40.70 - Argentine National record is 39.93).

To run a 7 second 60.

This is not based on what I actually ran in competition last year but rather on the following:
After two months of training I ran a 4 second 30 meter on asphalt from a standing start (and in 6 degrees celsius). This was posted as a video-clip on this site.
About a month later when I first started working out on a track I was filmed during a 60 meter, covering the last 30 in 3 seconds. At this point I was already experiencing the tensing up that would only get worse as the season progressed, actually covering the first 30 in about 4.2 seconds. I have recently viewed the clip again and I am no doubt overstriding, fighting my own tightness. The triple-extension which are there during the first clip are not present in the second one.
All in all with just a little progress and by putting together a whole race I ought to run a 7 second 60.

To make it to the english schools, and then make the final in the 200meters.

Also U20 AAA INDOOR CHAMPS, i will be there and i want to make the fianls in the 60meters and 200meters. And all i can say from there is to give it 200%.

Times, they will come.

Thank You

My objectives are to run low 6.2 in the 55, under 21.54 in the 200 indoors. My goals are to run at U.S. Nationals in either event. I also plan on helping one of the athletes i’m training run 10.00-10.10 this year. He used to be a DIII sprinter and has a personal best of 10.19.

to stay injury free, run the fastest possible times I can every race, and to let God do the rest.

and go as deep as I can when districts, regionals, and state comes.

Break the 400m f/soph record 49.8
Run sub 2:00 for the 800
run sub 24.00 in the 200

Make it to sectionals for solo performance, and nationals/state for relays.

As I approach the Masters 40 year old class, run ANYWHERE in the 11’s [even 11.99!], sub 24 in the 200m and sub 55 in the 400m. Here’s hoping for some winter weather!

P.S. Thor- I’m like you- I piece together my PB’s from 0-30, 0-60, flying 30’s etc. and make my goals from my vision of putting together all these PB components in one race!

Mine is around 10.3, but I really want to be state champ this year. Possibly sub 22 when I really get to run it. Try to do 49 or so but I doubt I get under 52.
