I have a two part question. Let us assume that a coach has all his sprinters do high volumes of long distance running in their program with little to no speed training.

would larger more powerful sprinters be more prone to injury under with the high volume of distance running. ex: 5"8 130 pound kid with a high turnover rate with outstanding speed endurance, vs 6"0 190 pound kid who is very lean and strong, has better accelaration, and runs off his power?

would the long distance training and lack of speed work be likely to adversely affect the speed of the larger more powerful kid moreso than the skinny small kid?
