It seems dr’s will do ANYTHING to avoid MRI’s. Rehab, anti imflams, cortisone, anything but the actual MRI… Also I cant believe there are state law’s which ONLY allow you to receive an MRI by order of the dr. ??? What the heck is this?

I feel your pain. I was told last year to forget doing sports again by a general practitioner, because he couldn’t diagnose the problem-probably thought I didn’t have a real problem. I twisted his arm for about 20 mins to get me a referral to a surgeon. The problem was clear from even the x-ray, and the MRI showed more detail. Sad that some fool made you have cortisone shots.
once you got the funds an MRI is available, very expensive though!
My friend got an MRI after he did plyometrics of a box and it cost him one thousand dollars. They are very expensive.
being near Stanford, my MRI cost $1800 and my health insurance covered a max of $1500, so $300 was out of my pocket.
I booked my MRI for a next day apointment.
To make things worse, my injury showed up negative (only some excess fluid, no tears or erosion)
