what exactly are running a's

are these just high knees

high knee running in the sprint position moving forward slowly. We used to do running A tows which were awesome  (bungee cord attached to an athlete who performs running A’s and drags the other athlete behind him. (The athlete anchoring is walking behind and keeping tension on the cord)

I have a weight vest that i can adjust from 2-40lbs would running a’s with 10% of my body weight help any?and if so what would it help?

You can but I would recommend using the weighted vest for 30 meter sprints out of the blocks. Do a few sets out of the blocks with the weighted vest and then a couple sets without it at the end. I think you will find running A’s over distance difficult enough without added weight
Cheers,
Chris

But would the vest lower my hip flexor???

I dont understand what do you mean?

I believe he is asking would the weighted vest lower the hips if it was used during starts. Is hip height as important during the first 10 meters of a race as it is during the max velocity portion of running?

Also, does anybody have a video of an athlete doing running A’s with good technique they could post.

what phase are running A’s

Since running A’s are low intensity technique drills they can be used at any time of the year, no?
