What weights can world class throwers, decathletes, jumpers, and sprinters put up? I have seen the numbers of some sprinters but what about everyone else? Is putting up these numbers a prerequisite for winning?
This gets into the chicken and egg thing. Whats comes first, strength or speed? Check out these posts from last year:

I should point out that this refers to high level sprinting. During the early stages of development, general strength must be in place before proper sprinting technique can be executed, but this does not require the freakish strength levels of world class sprinters, which come later as a product of extremely high speeds.
so in a way those who have the talent to be expllosibve on the track or circle also have a similiar ability to explode with weights. Now was Carl Lewis a lifter?
From what I understand, Carl did very little lifting until the end of his career. But I’m sure his speed gave him the potential to lift big weights if he applied himself.
