Weightlifting and sprinting

I am training to someday compete in weightlifting. I train 3 days a week (mon, wed, fri).

I would like to start sprinting, for general fitness, weightloss and conditioning.

I have added sprints friday morning (11am) and train with weights at about 6pm. And can handle that fine

Obviously i would like to avoid over training…so i would like my sprinting to be of a low volume. But i dont know how low i should go.

I could sprint either day on the weekend…and monday morning.

I am thinking of going into a total weightloss conditioning phase until i am happy with my weight.
