It seems that a lot of people here are telling the younger guys not to lift weights until around 16 and rather do more bw stuff. What’s your reasoning behind this? I was always told that the earlier the better, as long as you got good form, and don’t mess yourself up with going too heavy.
I would just like to know what you guys think is the reason for us younger guys not to lift weights, and what would you guys advise us (in particular me) to do instead of weights? I just don’t feel you can gain results from bw work, as much as you could from weights.
If your talking from a sprinting point of view, i realize where you guys are coming from since all you do on the track is basically battle your bw and gravity, but if you weightlift you are more customed to more resistance and becoming a more powerful sprinter.
