upper extremity injury and lower body training

I played football this season on a rec. flag football leauge. Unfortunately, I dislocated my shoulder tore the labrum and chipped off a piece of bone on the glenohumeral joint. I got an MRI done and after the doc looked at it he advised that a repair job would be the best option (need to get a second opinion) Anyway, the problem this poses is that I wanted to really test out all that I have been learning on this website on myself and apply it to some HS athletes that want to train this spring. Being that my upper body will be out of commision for one month before I can start re-hab, I wanted to get everyones opinion on keeping myself fit. Also what type of lower body exercises do you guys think are best during this time?
