Why? I actually just got them minutes ago, and these are supposed to be the most durable, tacky gloves out there. I have used the nike gloves the past 2 years, and those have terrible durability.
dont think about gloves till u get in college, get use to the feel of the ball and develop the hand skills - lil advice from my hs coach who didnt let us use gloves at all even ol/dl.

Havent worked out in the weightroom this hard in a long time. I had no air conditioning in my room also, so it was like dealing with Texas Heat. I am going to be very sore tomorrow for sure. Was one minute imbetween sets enough rest?
60sec is too long esp for people who use gloves to catch the ball.

Alright Ill shorten the rest. But ya, I agree with you that it isnt necessary to use gloves all the time like at every practice etc. I will wear them at games and at the combine because I cannot afford to drop balls.
well, I havent posted anything in a while because I have had a 103degree fever. I have took the whole week off so far. But for me, school is over this week and I am exempt from all my finals. Also when I was at the doctors office yesterday, I found out that I grew half an inch since last summer(5’8.75-5’9.25). Which I was glad because I am growing a lot slower than other people and it made me think I stopped growing. The other problem that I had was I had very high blood pressure. Which that could be the reason my endurance sucks is what one person had told me. And I need to stop taking that Nyquil stuff because that is another reason that is causing it to be so high.

School is out for me finally! I am exempt from all my finals. Now I am on my own as far as workouts until June 1st, the combine. I couldnt believe it once I broke nine feet. But I had done it about 4 times out of 18. I really need to hit that nine feet mark at the combine. Felt like the sprints needed cobbwebbs to be worked out of them but they still felt ok. Im still taking the same amount of steps at least. Lifting will probably have to be done tomorrow. Depends on what I have going on tonight.

Ok, well I expected him to go easy on me since it was my first day back but man I was so tired. What was hard was doing all those reps and supersets, and then when it came to the running part I could barely move my arms. And I got so tired that I could not stand up straight, my hands were on my knees and I was gasping for air. It also took me like an hour to finally catch my breath. This really shows that my mental toughness is weak, and it will no doubt be my biggest area to improve on. I wont be able to workout tomorrow but on friday from now on he will be having me do the running part first and then the weightroom part. He also mentioned that the 5-week running program he has me on is what the Dallas Cowboys are doing right now. Ill be happy with it as long as I can move my arms when I run.
so the cowboys are during your running workouts, cant wait to see this progression.
Ya, and he said by week 3 we will be running 30x30yds sprints! with only 35 sec rest imbetween. I kind of wish he could have me do more combine prep before the combine but regardless of what I do, I will still go over there and perform well.

The combine is a week from now. Running on that field turf felt very weird to me. I didnt wear cleats and I had no traction and I felt like I couldn’t run in a straight line. I wasnt able to workout yesterday because I was busy. Also the rest intervals were very short so I got pretty tired but at least I did the running part first so I was able to run with better form than last time.

This whole workout was done indoors on a carpet floor because it was raining. We focused on the combine events today. Which I didnt have to deal with the gut-wrenching conditioning today. That 9’3 broad jump that I had I fell backward after landing, but I would be happy getting 9’0 without falling. And the broad jump is just all about the knee tuck at the end. That Pro Agility technique is something you really have to master. You could mess up by 1" on the turn and you can waste .3. But I would be satisfied with a 4.32 at the combine. Im probably capable of faster but that technique is hard to master. What I am worried about at the combine is that I will only get 2 chances on the events, and I feel like I need more than that to reach my potential.
If you’re worried about getting more attempts to get yourself primed, you could add in a couple run throughs at 95% of the desired event in your warm up, before the actual test is conducted.
Don’t settle man, keep looking for improvements. I’d like to see you run 4.2x pro-agility and 9’5"-9’7" at the combine for broad jump. You can do it!

Not as good today. Was still sore from yesterday but I have to get that technique down. Im taking the rest of this week off. The 10yd times were timed on some type of tile that they have. And he stopped the watch after my whole body has gone through the line like NFL scouts. That will be something that the scouts over there will stop the watch when just my chest finishes, so I should be faster, and I will be running with track spikes. I got my new track spikes today they are the Nike Zoom Rivals S III. I just need to perform at my best at all costs on friday.
damn the cowboys need to hire a new strength coach bc some of those workouts are questionable.
We arent doing that right now. I am only working out 2 days this week and we just decided to work on the combine events. And it has been pouring down rain so all of this stuff has been indoors in the weightroom. Once the combine is over, we will continue the cowboys running program. When I come back on monday I will be running 30x30’s with 35sec rest.
Thursday
Yesterday I swam in the pool and this morning I did a light dynamic warmup and static stretched. I am pumped for that combine tomorrow. Its a 2hr drive from where I live and it is at 3pm, so I can plan out my meals perfectly for tomorrow. All I have to do now is just take it easy and keep praying.

With the one on ones, I was only thrown a catchable ball once on a hitch pattern and I shook the first guy and outran the second guy. I was very disappointed with the Shuttle and the Broad Jump. It must have been the nike frees for the broad jump, I felt flat and I was consistently jumping over 9’ with my nike impax shoes on monday. The shuttle surface was terrible. It was muddy and I was too careful of slipping on the turns. The 40 wasnt ran on a very fast track from what I heard. It was only a .05 difference from my last time. I think I led all the receivers with the bench but that doesnt matter much. Overall I improved on most but I could have done a lot better.
Not bad man, you’re only going to be a junior though right? Keep workin hard, get stronger, bigger, faster!
