This was done during the period. I kind of peaked in the coaches office today, and saw that they put me at slot receiver on offense. It looked like that they had me at a 4-3 OLB in the defense. But it wasnt a set depth chart.

Monday:

Not a good day for me, I was supposed to do 285x8, but just couldnt do it. It may be that I am not good at doing higher reps than 6, which I hope so. But on my last workout, I did all my reps and they were sets of 8. Hopefully next week will be a better workouts with the sets of 6. I dont think we will do this same workout again this week.

Tuesday:

All we did was DB/LB drills for the period which was 45min. I wasnt used to doing those DB backpedals and side sprints. All I did last year at Rover was cover the flats or man up on the No. 2. I dont think the defensive coordinator plans on getting me any playing time this year just because all the other guys weigh 20lbs more than me. But I proved him wrong last year at LB so I wont be afraid to do that again this year. But I would also much rather play offense than Defense but I will not make that an excuse to go half-ass at Defense.

Wednesday:

Depth Jumps:

Broad Jumps:4x6

Made some instant gains in my Broad Jumps and 10yd sprints. In my Broad Jump, I jumped 8’10!. Thats a 3" increase from last time. All I did was land in a higher knee bend, and relax a bit more. With my 10yds, I ran it in 6 steps. Last time I ran it in 7.5 steps and the reason was simply because it wasnt 10yds, it was like 12yds. I was worried about taking 7.5 steps in 10yds but I am glad that I found out why.

are the depth jumps done after school or doing school football period, and do you think they are helping?

After School. I think they are, I just think I need to use a higher box than 12" next time.

Thursday:

All we did was LB drills and didnt do very many of them. And tomorrow should be the same also.

ok, was just curious how your coaches would have had 100+ guys doing depth jumps.

Well, like you said, there probably isnt a single football coach that incorportes full recovery between Explosive Movements to achieve maximum quality of the drill. And then uses Tempo work the next day. I just do these Explosive Workouts to develop my weaknesses, and to get ready for the combine on June 1st. Then I just now registered for a minicamp at Texas A&M on June 7th. But after that it will be full focus on football drills/conditioning with my trainer Odell James.

Monday:

After School: Upperbody Workout.

Im starting to like the Rover position a lot better. Last year all we did was drop back in zone coverage. But this year we are also doing some man coverage. I like getting shots on the receivers and messing up their routes. Im not getting tired at all when I play LB or when I have to switch out for the subs and run routes. Of course it will be a different story when the weather gets to be 100+degrees and with pads on.

Tuesday:

During the period we just warmed up for no reason because all we did was go over defensive alignments of the defense we have.

After school on my own.

I didnt have a good day for broad jumping today. I think I only hit 8’10 once the whole time. It was like I had no knee tuck at the end, and I was striving for distance instead of relaxing. The last workout I had I could jump 8’10 almost the whole entire workout. I also felt real tight today for some reason, maybe Im not stretching enough? But at school the coaches are having us go over the defense and 7on7 for tomorrow also, so thats 3 days in a row we havent lifted weights and then on Thursday and Friday they are going to make us lift.

Wednesday:

After school: The lower body assistant exercised workout.

7on7 went well today. I just wish the ball would be thrown at me more often. Tomorrow and Friday we will lift weights. I sure hope my strength hasnt gone down any. But Im pretty sure that I will be sore tomorrow anyways.

Glad to see that my strength hasnt decreased any. I was worried that I got weaker without lifting for almost a week. I still hope to get my max up on everything before the season starts.

You probably have me in bench now, but I got 405lbs on squat today. check the journal.

Friday:

All we did today was the wednesday lowerbody after school workout during the period. I couldnt do anything on my own today because I was too busy. I also didnt feel fresh enough from my squat workout from yesterday, just a little bit sore. But Cant wait for tomorrow morning for the draft. “With the uh first pick of the 2007 nfl draft, the Oakland Raiders select Jamarcus Russel, Quarterback, LSU.” But it wont be Paul Tagliabue saying that this year either.

With My favorite NFL team being the Dallas Cowboys, I predict that they get Aaron Ross from UT. They need a DB and a guy that could be added return value. Then they need someone who could play on the opposite side of Demarcus Ware. I totally disagree with all the Mock Draft Picks that all the so called “NFL EXPERTS” have.

dont see my cowboys drafting a db, maybe a wr.

Cmon man, they could go one more year without drafting a receiver. They could get a steal out of this years draft like Jason Hill or Paul Williams. And Sam Hurd and Miles Austin are pretty solid. T.O. and T.G. will be hard to replace but they still have 2 more years I think.

watch and see what happen, they could in this order, wr, outside lb, or dl. i just dont see them going db.

Ha, I’m praying my chiefs can steal Teddy Ginn at pick 23 after trading special teams phenom Dante Hall away. hopefully they won’t do anything stupid like draft Defense…Again. We’ve been needing a solid WR since Andre Rison a while back.

dont think ginn will fall that far but someone like jarrent or steve smith will be there, they need wr B A D.
