The only time when I feel the quad is when I’m running at top speed. Sucks that I have a track meet tomorrow, but the meet may be canceled because the weather is supposed to get ugly tomorrow. I asked the coach again if I could change my position. He said that he plans on having me play more Outside LB instead of Inside. Then on offense he wants me to be the main guy that will get the ball on Jet Sweeps, etc. I’m happy with that.

I think you are right. I wasn’t in a very good heat. My heat onlyhad 4 people and there was a guy beside me who ran a 11.9 according to the timers. You are right I’m not in very good shape yet. My form starts to blow once I get in the last 15-20m of the race when I’m just thinking let me finish this race. once I get my fitness level up hopefully I can crack the 23’s in the 200, starting to be my best event even though I don’t like it as much as others.

I don’t really understand why they make us do a heavy weight workout the day before a meet.

I know right! The coaches even had an agreement with us that they wouldn’t but they still did regardless if the meet was going to be canceled or not. Just about every other school around here takes a full day off the day before the meet.

May be they have an agreement with the school physiotherapists…

Haha, I wish we had physiotherapists at my school. For some reason though we don’t have many injuries which is odd when these coaches make us do a lot more than what is required.

I’d love to see you do a week of what the training I have to do. I don’t even post the whole workout on somedays because it is too much to type haha.

dude your young, your body can take anything. i remember when i was in hs we had bfs strength workouts tue/thur and speed/agility/plyos/matt drills m-w-f then we had track workouts after school and this is not counting the 2 weeks of boot camp training we had.

And you went to a 5A school and you probably had tons of rest imbetween every drill. We only have 10 people in my group that I am in. So pretty much after you complete the drill, you are already about to start another rep with no rest! Keep in mind that this will go on for about 50min straight.

We really didnt have that many people bc we had two football periods, one for the varsity guys and another for fr/soph/jv guys.

Was the rest periods pretty long? My cousin is the DL coach at Cedar Hill and he says that they are able to perform every drill full-speed because there are so many athletes there. Look at how successful their football program is, they won state back a couple of years ago. Then he says that they usually only have practices that are only 1-2 hours long during the season. The reason is because they rely heavily on their speed, and the only way to do that is to keep them fresh.

My quad only hurts when I am at top speed. Doesn’t hurt when I do squats or any short distance work. I started to feel it after that 40. I’m going to ice it and put the EMS on it tonight.

Track meet on thursday, I’m running the 4x1, 100m, and 4x2. This is the last full week of workouts. I do not plan on working out during spring break next week at all. I’m going to use that week as a recovery week.

I’m getting stronger alright. My 1RM in squat is probably 385-395, and bench is probably around 255-260. I’ve been eating a lot lately also. If only I could tell if I’m getting faster or not.

My quad isn’t 100% yet, probably made it worse at the meet. I really shouldn’t have ran. Spring break is here, I plan on doing absolutely nothing as far as training this week.

Took 9 days off because of easter/spring break, I feel very rested. Back to work…

Terrible today… It took me forever to recover from that track workout this morning, I was feeling fine before it. Then I had this horrible headache. Today pretty much sucked because of it. Other than that I’m proud of myself for fighting through all of it and not quitting because of a headache.
