Years ago when I traveled in Europe I came across a topical anti-inflamatory in Germany that worked miraculously on a sprained ankle. It was a yellow and white tube with black print made in Germany. I can’t recall the name of the company or even what the medicine was. It may have been ibuprofen
The sense of urgency is I have a NFL’er in Scotland with a first degree plus seperated AC joint and the medical staff seems to be rather lazy or in the dark ages. With two games to go he is playing very well and wants to give it a go, but on the other hand doesn’t want to ge hurt coming into camp.
I’m trying to get him some help across the Atlantic from our European counter-parts or anyone that has traveled throughout Eastern Europe or the United Kingdom. This medicine worked very well and it may be, along with therapy, what he needs to get back in the action. Thanks.
It was probably a cream called Tanderil, which, I believe, is not made any more. There is a Voltarin cream available, which may work as well, which I’d mix with Traumeel cream, a homeopathic prep which I’ve found works very well.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…Charlie Francis you are a genius! Heh Charlie you thought about having your own chat show? It would be a winner! Give Letterman a run for his money!!
Anyone know if Voltarin and Traumeel are available in a Scotland pharmacy?
A prescription is needed for the Voltarin, correct? I remember purchasing Voltarin at a small Germany pharmacy without a perscription. I guess in those mom and pop shops anything goes, within reason of course.
It depends on the country I guess. Voltaren gel (diclofenac sodium 10mg/g) used to be prescription only in Australia, until a couple of years ago it was put onto the pharmacy shelves. There are also other generic brands containing the active ingredient I think.
Here in Canada, a company in Toronto has made a topical NSAIDS called Pennsaid (made of diclofenac) which I have given to my athletes to use for various aches and sprains. I have had good results with it.
