Assuming the setup you talk about is 3 HI days (M,W,F) then option 1 would be Saturday post tempo with Sunday to recover then Tues & Thurs in that order. I am sure the reasoning is is the muscle tone post tempo is more suitable than after a HI session.

I agree Saturday would be best.
