When doing speed work (outdoors of course), should one always adjust their position on the track to give them a tailwind?
this is addressed in CFTS and the general gist of charlie’s response is:
in most cases yes. but a headwind can be used to protect the hammies or to limit the CNS intensity to a degree.
as an aside: also, if you’ve got a huge wind you might want to weigh your options on whether it’d be more helpful or hurtful in the long term to have that as a tailwind.
