Tapering

During the championship cycle of a track season, do you recommend during taxing CNS lifts such as Power Clean and squats during the last three weeks of the season.

  1. I have heard that you most explosive lifts should occur at the end of the season.

or

  1. I have heard that you should elimate those lifts for the last few weeks and you will not lose any power or stregth if you stop for a few weeks.

2 week taper with squats in the first week then drop squat the last week. for example:
