Starting Stance

Hello,

My training is geared exclusively toward becoming a better basketball player, so I keep sprint work to under 30 meters. My question is: what sort of stance should I be using? I’m not particularly familiar with proper sprint start technique. But because of the short distances, an improper start is a big deal, right? Thoughts? Thank you.

you already said it, you are trying to become a better bb player so dont worry about sprint stance, just get out and run from a standing stance and maybe pushup stance etc.

I’d reccommend Falling start and push up start like tamfb said.

Well, it’s certainly not something I’m going to focus on! Just wondering what you guys think.

So is a falling start just like it sounds? Lean forward and start to fall over, then start running?

Does a falling start involve standing up on your toes and then falling?, or just falling flatfooted with your heels on the ground before catching yourself and starting your sprint?

In for answer!
