would it be optimal to sprint in the rain? lets say the weather is not as cold. But it is raining, would it affect GCT on the track? IF not just go to an indoor facility and do 10-20m runs if possible, or subsitute for weighttraining?
In a race its not that great to run in the rain, but in practice just do it cause it will not hurt you.
Just after the rain has stopped is often a good time to run, as the wind is often very still!
You ever notice a time difference when it is cold rain. Say 35-45 degrees?
My coach always tells me to be very careful when I have to practice in a humid environment, and I would guess it is kinda humid when/after raining.
Not only that but I have heard something along the lines of the “steam or water vapor” or whatever you want to call it rising off the track making the conditions similar to that of altitude. Anyone else hear this?
It is true that humid air is slightly less dense (similar to altitude)
actually humid air is more dense. hot and dry air is less dense.

Humid air is less dense. I know what I’m talking about. Look it up.
Yes when its that cold, but i thought you said it wasnt that cold, so i was figuring like 60
Dude i dont think you do know what your talking about since it is the very idea of the air pressure being heavier in relation to the amount of water vapor in the air which is exactly the humidity level. So there for if the humidity is high then the air pressure is high, which is not thin like altitude.
Did you read the link I posted?
“Note! As we can see from (6) increased moisture content reduces the density of the moist air - Dry air is more dense than moist air.”
Quit posting nonsense! I have a degree in science.
forgive me mr scientist. you are correct, i was simply speaking from the way it feels after rain back home. But then maybe you could answer my question; why does it feel harder to breath after it rains an every thing else that goes along with rain? You know what bro i was thinking bout back in florida when it rains then the sun comes out asap, if you’ve ever exspeirenced this then you would know why i made this honest mistake.
I am told it is harder to breathe at altitude as well.
Can’t keep avoiding rain, not unless you intend to pull out of every race that occurs on a rainy day.
yeah i know sometimes it can’t be avoided, but for practice would it hamper performance?
