Speed plateaus

Hey folks.
I always reach a speed plateau after around 6-8 max speed sessions.
I’m wondering whats the best way to blast through a plateau and continue improving?

FEF/EFE, how are your weights?

Thank you, yes it makes sense to actually vary the type of running!

The squat continues to improve, however the snatch and clean seem to break down a tad, maybe 2.5 kilos off my usual reps, insignificant I guess.

I will try the FEF and EFE runs.
For EFE is the goal to reach a max speed that a hard acceleration wouldn’t allow?

Try backing off the sq.

So you think the sq may be draining my CNS reserves?
Also should I continue to do regular sprints along with the EFE and FEF?

wk 1:
4x30
4xefe

wk 2:
4x30
3xefe/3xfef

wk 3:
4x30
5xfef

wk 5:
4x30
3xfef
1x60

Keep the squats 3x2x75-80.

Looks good. For the EFE could I do something like 40m/20m/20m and 20m/20m/20m for the FEF, or would you suggest something different?

I would go 20-20-20 maybe you can play around with 30-30-30.

But how are you supposed to reach top speed off an easy 20m accel?
My understanding of EFE is that you reach a super-max top speed due to the easy build up, but wouldn’t it need to be at least 40m?
Or am I confusing EFE with flying sprints?

EFE is nothing but a flying 20. FEF should be a very aggressive first 20.

Oh ok.
Thanks for your help:cool:
