Soft Tissue Release

After my entire winter was wasted seeing physio’s I came across a “sports therapist” offering S.T.R. And what do you know my scar tissue was no longer a problem, and my Rom increased.

By simply limiting some fibres from moving the scar tissue and the rest of my tissue was forced to stretch. So I now, with the therapist have worked it in to my programe to do something like this more frequently using a chair and a golf ball. By sitting on the chair and placing the ball under my legs at various points and then slowly kick out the leg. I have found this to be an brilliant way of not only treating myself (to some extent), but a great way to increase flexibility.

I just cant believe how much money I wasted seeing physio’s and them not even working the scar tissue (to much about core stability).

Does that DMSO stuff really work?

Make sure to buy some breath mints when using DMSO or you will lose friends and dates

dimethylsulfoxide, it is a byproduct of the manufacturing of paper. they use it on thouroughbreds, so i figure if it’s good enough for them it’s good enough for me

DMSO?

I use DMSO on my scar tissue. make sure your skin is CLEAN, and that you can take a bit of a burn that comes along with it. From what I understand, it is like topical aspirin, it permeates the skin and thins the blood in the area of application, making it tons more loose. make sure you do it about 45min in advance, even better to sleep on it. you can buy it at animal feed stores or over the net. the ball on a chair is magical, i have been doing that too!

I dont like the cold, ice hurts besides other stuff can do the same thing.

does anyone have ways of treating there scar tissue that doesn’t costa fortune and is easy to do?

Another success story without the use of RICE-

We need to start a support group

That’s what i was going to ask!

This DMSO stuff is it for when scar tissue has formed or is it for use in the inflamation stage, And how long do the affects last for?

Also what do you use in the inflamation stage to aid/speed up recovery in the form of either topical or oral other than the old RICE?

I generally use RICE. but man, I wrap the heck out of it. very tight and elevated. I have been putting the DMSO on at night b/c it makes your breathe smell like garlic, but you can put it on before you warm up. I honestly do not know what it does physiologically, but you can look it up in the archives. Cost me about $3 at an animal feed store in CA.

But does it work?

oh yeh …
And have you any female friends left?
(just joking…)
