mass specific force (relative strength)
but ross’s book isnt a good start either a good start would be a good solid text on anatomy and physiology and/or kinesiology. why get information filtered through others. start with the core knowledge and expand from there. people all to often want something preented to them in a nice and neat package, do this many reps, do this many sets blah blah.
gpp essentials dvd is the best thing to give to a beginner.
actually its the only thing imho…
Its worth 10x its weight in gold.
I totally agree!!!
He (Ross) makes such an excellent case with his strength routine and then he screws the whole thing up with some weird “deadlift”??!!!
Thats why I say substitute the deadlift with the squat, and see how your times improve!!
i use barry ross’s systen when i squat,
excample… 315 4@15 reps… 1 1/2 recovery
my old way
my legs would still tingle, but i can suffer…
now for fun i do 365 4@20…5min rec… i feel great and can do other stuff, and still have energy… not the old way, iam incremintally moving forward, not backwards…
that just 1 work-out…
ciao
A Fucking MEN!!
Me too.
My squat went up 200 lbs the last year
how much did ur sprint times drop?
RDL’s are tops.
i have not squated in ages, and my times are always improving
Well 20 year old girls who run 13.xx and just do track for fun aren’t going to read a physiology book, but they might read Ross’s book. Not every track athlete is a fanatic.
