Any one have any experience with these two enzymes. I have been using them with my hamstring pull and amazing how they have helped me?
I use daily serrapeptase for my disc damage and it is the first time in years I have not been suffering from low back pain, got a little crazy though and pulled my hamstring. However, I am already running again (not sprinting), adn was felling no pain 3 days later (walking or moving).
Very safe product that can be taken in high doses, if in your system prior to injury seems to speed recovery.
It did not take very long, days not weeks. I did not realize the power of enzyme activity. The premise of the medical field is to deal with the pain and not the cause, these two products are desined to assist the body in dealing with the root of the problem scar tissue and regeneration of damaged tissue. I use the serrapeptase all the time and it has helped me with back (disc) and hamstring (pull). I added the wobenzym with the ham pull and in three days I was moving well.
They are also very safe and you cannot overdose on them. When they begin to work, it is not a masking of pain, but an improvement with the cause of the problem.
I tried to find some serrapeptase “over the counter” earlier today but could’nt find any so I’ll order some over the internet this evening. I was able to find some Wobenzym which is a product I am familiar with but have never taken.
Fergus, thanks for your interest. I went to see my orthopoadist, he diagnosed the patalla tracking thing and drained the knee (60 cc of fluid) and gave me a shot of cortisone. He told me to rest until pain free. The cortisone did’nt do shit which has been my history with cortisone.
I rested for another week and began feeling better. Started squatting again (I’m sure prematurely). 225x3, next session 250x3, next session 275x3, next session 300x3 and the pain became excruciating again so I’m back to no training. I’m hoping the enzymes along with the ARP will alleviate the problem. This time around I’m going to be more patient and give this thing some time to get better. My problem, like with many others, is I HATE not being able to train. If I can’t squat, deadlift or power clean I don’t feel like training at all. Oh well.
Very ‘interesting’ that the cortisone didn’t do any good for you
I would imagine with good manual therapy you should be able to maintain some training program…
If tracking (not hypertonicity) is the problem then you need to mainatain proper baalnce in ech of the quad group - as usually the VMO can be over powered and if you’re resting you also need to bear in mind the VMO atrophies very fast - so resting it means bringing it up to speed very fast when you go back lifting.
The big problem with cortisone is that it weakens the connective tissue. So you have to be VERY conservative when easing back into training. It takes quite a while for the connective tissue to rebuild. The irony is that most athletes use cortisone to train through pain, which is a double whammy.
Have fun with Charlie. You will not be disappointed.
I’ve had success with Wobenzyme for overcoming severe muscle soreness after training. Luckily I haven’t needed it to help with acute injury (knock on wood), so I can’t provide any feedback for that application.
You can find these two enzymes from Natures Sunshine. Serrapeptase (serrratia peptidase enzyme is a product of Enerex botanicals Ltd. out of Burnaby, BC, www.Enerex.ca.
