FYI The samples appear to be taken from the second edition (1989) of the The Athletic Congress’s Track and Field Manual, Chapter Sprints and Relays, authors: Vern Gambetta, Gary Winckler, Joe Rogers, John Orognen, Loren Seagrave, Sonny Jolly.

The workouts are “for a high school sprinter running 100m in 10.7 to 11.0s and 200m in 22.6 to 23.0.” although to be fair it also says that they should be adapted to the ages and training abilities of the athletes.

That sample training schedule was written by Gambetta with a heavy does of Winckler thrown in. When that book was released this group were the Level 2 sprints/hurdles/relay instructors for USATF (actually TAC then).

winckler changed alot since then, sample microcycle for hurdlers, look like hi/low setup:

Monday
warmup
Light jumping work
5 step hurdle skill…working on hurdle clearance
Squats or step ups in weight room
mobility

Tuesday
warmup
Cleans or snatches in weight room
general strength
mobility

Wed
warmup
hurdle starts
rhythm endurance work
mobility

Thur
warmup
Tempo running
mobility

Fri
warmup
Cleans or snatches in weight room

Sat…compete

Sun…warmup and mobility

Yes Gary has changed over the years an some would say his results have not been as good as in the past

Any chance to locate that manual, or have a complete sequence of workouts?

Seems plenty of second hand booksellers offer it. Try abebooks, amazon, google etc
