So come the main competition phase, I understand everything having to do with peaking with the speed part, but how do you peak in strength and how should your program be set up to do that. So what to do know, reps/sets later on and during competition phase.
Usually 4 weeks of max strength 2-4reps x5 sets integrated with plyometric training. Max strength and power phases can be done only if earlier phases have been completed. I would recommend 6 months of general hypertrophy & circuit type work.
So if I want to peak in lay May/early June, when should I do my max strength phase?
Numerous other factors need to be considered before answering that question. As a general rule I would think March-April max s. May-June power.
