Wear three pairs of tights to sleep in. The missus might not like it but it definately seems to improve muscular recovery…
huh?
why dont you explain yourself
Not fishnets surely lol
If you have a sore area, you can apply some heat rub (carefully!), then cover the area with some plastic wrap, and then cover the whole area with tights to secure the plastic wrap overnite. Don’t cover too many areas at one time or you may end up just turningthe metabolism down, resulting in less heat in the affected area than expected. Try it!
It helped us secure a school record in the 4 x100m at the state meet…I didn’t belive but we had not other options…
What case would this be proscribed? How often should an athlete use this method?
(i assume that severely hot weather outside would make this a bad idea if one didn’t have air conditioning)
That’s possible, but unlikely to be a problem if you cover a small area.
ummm…yeahh… Will wearing the tights during the day help my muscular recovery? I bet it will help my chances with the ladies!!! as long as it doesn’t cut down the circulation ummm…down there…
what kind of heat rub? Anything can be used like icy hot or menthol toast?
Would this protocol help a muscle strain recvoery due to more blood flow? And how much is blood flow improved by doing this?
Use a moderate heat rub- something that will be tolerable overnite!
any examples? What would you use?
ya what kind? A5-35? Deep Cold? (apparently this heats up despite the name)
I like biofreeze. It feels real good. I put it on after a shower. I usually put on some sweats with it. I have noticed less soreness the day after a hard workout.
I like A535 or an equivalent because it isn’t clammy-feeling when I’m trying to sleep. You can mix it 50/50 with a mild anti-inflam cream like Aspercream Forte.
As Charlie said… MODERATE heat cream. I used a very hot version & then saran wrap & managed to burn the skin because the intense heat couldn’t get out (brilliant, I know)
hahahaha. same here. and i spent an hour trying to wash it off. It burned like hell! lol.
How soon after an initial injury can this be used?
Obviously after the first three days when most of the inflamation has died down, but could it be done as soon as the 4th night???
Charlie, Clemson & company,
is this a once off treatment or something that can be used regularly on chronically tight areas?
Thanks.
I’ve only used it locally on h/s or calf with a compression bandage to keep the plastic on.
If I had a H/s tightness/injury I used wrap around my whole upper leg with cling-film with the cream underneath - now I just do the small rectangle of plastic and a jab of cream.
Seems to work fine for me…
When using a compression bandage. Be careful! Never sleep with tension on the compression bandage, as it can do serious damage. Wrap the area loosely.
