I feel a little ridiculous posting on this board, as I’ve had very little competitive running experience and don’t understand the nuances very well. That said: a year ago I broke my fibula and tibia, and suffered a complete dislocation of the ankle joint. I somehow managed to avoid serious ligament damage, though, and a sports med. doctor just told me I should regain 95% of my athletic capacity. Prior to the injury, which occurred in a rugby match, I ran a 10.8 100m at 225 lb. (102 kilos). I’ve been weightlifting again for about 5 months and I’ve got my squat back to 385 (was 465 x 4), so I think I’m finally ready to start some sprint training and plyometrics. I’m doing a three-day split in the gym, with mostly olympic movements, plus squat and deadlift. Can anyone recommend what else I should do? To whomever responds, thank you very much; I’ve had a hard time coming by applicable information.
