More Breakthroughs!

I am very excited today about my training session today and others recently. I broke my PB in the 50-55m by almost 2 tenths of a sec! I have also been smashing PB’s in 25-30m. Recent training times indicate that I am currently capable of 10.7-10.9s for the 100!:D:clap:

glad to hear you sucesses! what have you been running your 55’s in?

Good to hear Prophet.

Just started sprinting better. First week felt like the track was caving in, now I at least look ok.

You think you can 10.9 was is your PB or was your PB (guess) before this.

Keep up the good work.

What ares have shown the most improvement, over what training time frame, and what do you think is the primary change that has helped?

prophet,
I think a lot of the high schoolers on the site like you and I neglect speed endurance a little bit because we are so concerned with developing speed. I definitely did and it hurt my meet times. If you don’t find that you’re actually running the 10.7-10.9 consider this.

Also, why don’t you come over and join the club in the training journals section? And congrats !

I know ya’ll are gonna be mad but other than the meets from high school track, I have done no speed endurance work. I know, i know, but since school has ended I have begun to implement it. Also I am able to get 9hrs of sleep a night or more:D now that school is over instead of 6-7. That certainly has to help. I’ve been training for about 10mo now. But if u want to count months in which I have trained properly it isn’t any more than 3. I had no access to a track over the winter so I only lifted weights. Late last summer I was doing high-intensity work every day! Previous PB was 11.15s e.t.

All areas have improved greatly! Strength levels are up, acceleration is up, higher top speed, and general fitness is better than ever. I’ve been able to handle more tempo work than ever. Training correctly and getting enough sleep!

I will start a journal when the Go Drinks arrive and I will rate the 4 recovery drinks I’m testing out as well as my training.

What about your races? Aren’t they speed endurance?

Charlie, that’s what I meant in the above post about my high school meets. You know, coincidentally, I have made the greatest improvements in the past few months, around the same time I found this forum and Charlie’s training principles! Thanks for all the help Charlie and everyone else who contributes to this board!

Charlie, I also have a question about recovery periods for speed endurance. You recommend recovery periods of up to 30min b/w reps based on distance, should anything be done to prevent yourself from getting cold(like sit-ups to keep blood moving)?
