Mesocycles..

What do you guys do in terms of cycling themes in each mesocycle?

For example…changing focus each week on another element… I really wouldnt look at this so much as Charlies verticle integration because when i think of verticle integration i think of the annual plan. But here i am thinking in terms of each mesocycle in terms of focus and volume.

week 1.Speed
week 2.Strength
week 3.Endurance
week 4.Unload

A friend of mine from another site for example said
"if you want to play with volumes, maybe micro 1 is the best place to play with higher volumes of speed, b/c of rested state of body from previous unloaded week. reduce spec end work in that micro.
micro 2 could bring about lower speed volumes and higher spec end volumes possibly. and so on. don’t want to look at high volumes of speed work in last micro of meso with accumulated fatigue.

Can someone elbaorate?

Interesting Quik - could you post an example of how you might implement the changes in emphasis over a 4 week period .

For instance -
would speed emphasis be limited to volume or / and intensity

could strength emphasis integrate the number of reps ( as has recently been discussed in the strength section )

How would you manipulate speed end - ( this is one area I find difficult - finding it difficult to adjust speed % within individual reps )

Where would your emphasis on plyo’s be , if any?
