Well, I thought this would be a useful thread to bring up because, we, as sprinters, train VERY hard and intense and that’s when it really helps to be mentally tough. What are some of your methods or techniques to help stay focused on the track, in the weightroom, or in the kitchen?
Good training and good life habits in general will breed confidence. When you step to the line in a big race, you have to think back to all your hard work and sacrifice. If you can stand there and honestly say you did all that you can to prepare, then you will be ready. However, if you skipped out on a lot of your training then that just gives you a reason to doubt yourself.
Also, I think that smart training and consistency are more important than having devastating intense training sessions that leave you totally drained.
