Meet results

Hi guys,

Just got back from the meet and I thought it went pretty well.

Ran the 50 meter and did it in 6.60 FAT. (they announced the time over the PA I didn’t stick around to see the results sheet)

My reaction time, start and acceleration was pretty good but I was tight getting up to top speed. I believe I finished 6th overall. (There were 6 sections)

I was pretty happy considering I haven’t set foot on the track since before Christmas (December 13th I think?) and I am up to 203 pounds.

The illness I had for the last 4 weeks really knocked the crap out of me but I am pretty happy overall with todays race.

I think I can get down to the 6.40 FAT range for 50m for the Masters Championships in March if I get my weight back down to around 195 and a bit more track work in.

Cheers,
Chris

Nice race Chris!

Chris, I’m coming to the March 6 Masters indoors as well. But there’s only a 60m then, no 50m, right? Good run!

Thanks guys!

Johnny,

I am not sure if it is 50 or 60m. (Probably 60 meter)

I am hoping for something in the 7.4-7.6 range for that race FAT.

Hope to see you there!

cheers,
Chris

Good job! Sounds like you’re around where you were aiming. In particular if you were tight 1) with more races and some training you’ll get more relaxed and 2) you’ll get faster in a month of racing and training, so I think no doubt you’ll reduce that 6.60 by at least two tenths (that looks like a conservative estimate).

I’m getting excited seeing all these race results from indoors and hearing from you guys running your first races of the season. The calendar for here isn’t set yet (heck, the federation is on vacations), but my first race will probably be in 2 to 4 weeks time (first meet of the year in 2002 was 14 Feb, first meet in 2003 was on the 28th Feb). I can’t wait.

thanks Aln

Hopefully a 7.4 FAT 60 meter would be possible after several races. Have to wait and see

Cheers,
Chris

Yeah, that will be my first formal race! I’ll introduce myself when I get there. I can’t wait-it’s fun to prepare for actual competition.

Just found out my time was actually 6.67 and I finished 9th overall.

(3 guys in the other heats beat my time, one by only 0.02 of a second. DOH!)

Still quite happy with that though. Should be able to cut a couple tenths off that easily.
