max tempo volume

What’s the highest volume of tempo running an athlete should do during a session? Does it vary depending on training goals/event? Thanks

I think Charlie recommends around 6000m/week broken up into 1000m-3000m per session. I would guess that these would vary somewhat based on the level of the athlete and their event. The general guideline is to go at something less than 75% and to make sure that the last run of your workout is as fast as the first.

2200 for sprinters, 3000 for 400m runners.
