I have a leg press at home and other then a cross trainer it’s basically the only equpiment I have available for my legs. I’ve been advised against using a cross trainer cause it might interfere with my form.
Anyways I’ve been working with the leg press and doing some high weight for 3 reps and 10 times per rep. I’m wondering if it’s really worth it to use the leg press. I feel a slight burn at the end of it so maybe I should up the weight or something. Anyways any info is appreciated.
Hmm… I guess if that’s all you have access to, then it’s better than nothing? But it’s too bad you don’t have access to a squat rack, olympic bar, couple sets of plates, etc…
I’m starting high school track in about a month so as of right now it’s only a short term solution cause I’ll be able to get ahold of a squack rack etc. then.
You can also supplement with body weight squats and other variations of the body weight squat such as; squat position for 5 sec, 1/4 turn jump, squat position for 5 sec, 1/4 turn jump. Do this all the way for one complete circle then reverse. You can do a couple sets. You can start with 3secs if you need to. The lower you can go the better.
Also lunges, fill your wheelbarrow up and push it through your yard. Push your car. read Dinasour training for more ideas. Leg press is better then nothing. But there are many other more effective activities you could do.
