PJ, what will Fasuba need to do to secure adequent funding for his training?
Does he currently have a sponsor? What does this sponsor provide?
Pierrejean Are you a professional trainer, and do you have other athletes besides Olu and his girl?
Does Olu pay for your work, I mean since there isn’t even money for regular massages?
Training is not my job and i even have not a single diploma in any area of sport and not working for any federation or club or whatever. so far i’m FREE !
Fasuba has a sponsor and how much he pays me is confidential.
We are so far away from the original thread.
But you are responsible for his training programs?
Yes i’m doing the training plans since 2004.
returning to the original thread…has anyone of our greek frineds a text or some stuff from greek federations seminars or so on?
Couldn´t we get back to the Kenteris training
I think it would help if charlie or someone else could bring back a copy or a link of the original Kenteris-debate from a few years ago.
having met some guys who had the chance to meet kenteris, they reported him being very large in his upperbody
no he is not, ive seen him up close, he is normal, for a sprinter that is.
he is like 1.78, 72kg or something.
dont trust media data…when at the top, was at 80s or more…
I met him for european cup 2002; he trained in my stadium in florence for some days. he was impressive, very big in upper body! I belive that he’s more than 72kg!!!
you can see his site: http://www.kenteris.gr/biography_en.htm.
also kostantinos says he’s 80kg (but I think he was more than 80…)
Pierrejean, do you do speedwork short to long, and endurance long to short as you have mentioned before?
By the way, great job with Fasuba!
Yes John !
OK! thanks for your help! Olu is so powerful that blocks slip 3 times out of 4 now.
And you can be awarded for helping Olu to break his PB at 120m last week!
Can you tell me what that PB is for 120m and the conditions, i.e Tail winds
11.75 from blocks hand timing starting at first movement of rear foot, starting in the curve 120m from the finish line, running alone, as he always do. We have no wind gauge at training, however the wind was favourable at maybe 1m/s, not the kind of bursts which can go over legal limit.
At what distances do you start your endurance training?
By Endurance i suppose you are talking about long distances workouts. None of my athletes follow the same plan, but my 100m sprinter starts with 800m and my 400m girl with 1000m, however, my 200m guy doesn’t run more than 500m (with speed changes). This is not a guide of what should be done and even if i would not advocate to run 800m for short sprinters in theory, at practice and in this special case, it was necessary to do so. The workouts are based on what other workouts are done within the week, what has been done the previous year, current health, progression up to main competition, rythmic consideration, intuition and communication with athletes.
