By Endurance i suppose you are talking about long distances workouts. None of my athletes follow the same plan, but my 100m sprinter starts with 800m and my 400m girl with 1000m, however, my 200m guy doesn’t run more than 500m (with speed changes). This is not a guide of what should be done and even if i would not advocate to run 800m for short sprinters in theory, at practice and in this special case, it was necessary to do so. The workouts are based on what other workouts are done within the week, what has been done the previous year, current health, progression up to main competition, rythmic consideration, intuition and communication with athletes.
Thanks PJ, I know its complicated! I’ve had some good results with myself with both Charlies long to short, and short to long programmes and I was thinking of trying to incorporate both, a la your good self!
