I don’t know if anyone has posted this video previously, but it’s a short documentary on Borzov. About a minute and a half into it, Borzov describes a neat exercise one of his early coaches used to identify talent. He would roll pieces of paper into tubes and have the sprinters run with the tubes in their mouths. The ones who didn’t bite down on the paper tubes displayed the ability to stay relaxed.

Facial expressions tell a great deal about relaxation in all exercises but with sprinting it’s critical.
I remember running a 200m in yr 12 (21yrs ago) and I remember the sensation of my entire face jiggling like crazy…
