Intensities in A.A. Phase

What intensites would the forum recommend during a 3 week A.A phase. Bompa suggests using intensities between 40-60% and higher reps. Thoug some on the forum subscribe to the idea of using higher intesities (60-75%) and a lower rep scheme(<5). What are the benefits to each of these approaches? I plan on doing a circuit of 6-7 exercises after my speed workouts and am looking for a good approach. Im trying to avoid hypertrophy at all costs. Thoughts?
