I can’t find this post anywhere? Linford Christie and B.J.

I would think that a sprint coach becomes more vital when your strength levels are topped out and you need to focus on speed. You need someone to make sure your running technique is sound, that you are warmed up properly, flexible, good muscle tone, etc.

How much “lifting coaching” did Charlie’s guys have compared to sprint coaching/therapists/doctors/etc?

Would you really compartmentalize if you didn’t have to? Who’s in charge anyway? I know who is if I’m involved!
Remember, a camel is a horse designed by a committee.

It’s not always easy to find a good strength coach or sprint coach let along someone who is proficient in all modalities.

Most of the athletes here have no (qualified) coach. My argument is that it’s easier to lift without a coach than it is to sprint competitively without a coach.

i like you bc u have some interesting views - diff but interesting. lol . U need both to be great…

so CF are u with Davan on this one “once again make very much sense for a high level athlete like Ben, but what about for a low level athlete 10.4-10.6 range, bw 190-195, bsq 550, pc 340-350 would that be something you would use with him or would you continue with a little more vol ( 5x2-3x80-95%)”?

Great Question. I currently follow WSB and work up to a heavy single on all of my lifts. I’ve always wondered if the 1-rep max Squat would detract from my speed.
Charlie, what is your opinion? Is this a Win/Lose relationship where what you gain in intensity (at the extremes) in the Gym, you lose on the Track?

Why would you be all that worried about getting a big 1rm in the weightroom? I can tell you there are a lot of sub 10 guys who couldn’t touch you two in the weightroom.

are you asking me also??

whats the diff btw the 2x6 and the maintance program bc 2x6 seem more like maintance program to me. i think someting like below could give u the best of both worlds.

4-5x3x80

4-5x2x85

4-5x1x90
