how taxing are plyos

i was thinking of going into a 4 week mesocylce where i focus on str and decrease speed training to avoid overtraining… so i was thinking of decreases the # of speed sessions, and maybe adding a plyo day…

So basically my question is, are plyos in general less taxing on the cns than sprints?

Sorry for the delay in answering this post. Yes, plyos are “in general” less taxing on the CNS than sprints.

Why do you feel that you are in danger of overtraining? How many plyo days do you have and how many foot contacts per session do you do? How many speed sessions per week? What are your goals: do you want to get faster, or jump higher?
