I would think theyd being trying to get the energy spike that your supposed to get if you lift, then immediately load up on carbs when lifting ceases, then 7 hrs later your supposed to have a huge energy boost that lasts like 1.5 hours? im not sure the duration of the energy spike, but that would be the philiosophy behind lifting then running.
