Alright I have finally giving up on my dreams to buy a parachute ladders and all those other gimmicks. I want to know what I should do to get faster. I’m not really trying to get faster for track even tho I wouldn’t mine running track again my frosh stats were horrible and I didn’t runsoph year stayed in the weight room. Frosh stats were 100m 14.8 200m 30 flat and 400m 70 flat.Anyway back to the topic I want to get faster for this upcoming football season I currently run a 5.2-5.3 a few months ago probly faster now. I want to run a 4.7 . So i would like to know how I could get faster and also have endurance for this football season. Cause I think one of the great things I have is I get out of breath and tired so easy like today when I was playing basketball I got tired after I scored 5 pts. I think the problem their is I have no endurance. So basically what I’m asking is can someone help me or guide in a good direction to improve my explosivness speed and endurace. Also any products that actually work would be welcomed. Also I play linebacker/DE for football if that helps
I’d have a explosive/speed day and a tempo day. Where I’d do sprints one day and then maybe jog for a mile or so on the other day.
This site is filled with threads on football preparation. Look around in the archives, prob starting with the posts by xlr8 (try looking him up on the members list and punch up all posts by him). Once you’ve read through what’s here, it’ll be easier to narrow your questions down so we can help you.
Alright my questions are how do I improve my running mechanics and form. Also what would be good to like equipment or books or videos to enhance speed. Also how basically can I increase my speed
Also I’m very confused on GPP and tempo work. Also should I purchase a med ball and what can I do with it
get the dvd on this site…come on! everyone wants to get quick fixes here…study up…most coaches won’t!
Alright is it worth the 70 dollars. How long till I see my speed increase10-15 weeks? what is really on the dvd that is so special. Also I don’t have any hills i have a mini ramp about 10-12ft for a whell chair is that gd
I’d start with “Speed Trap” which can be purchased here fairly cheaply. It’s online, so you won’t have to wait.
I have no idea how long it will take to see your speed increase. That depends on what you do and how you do it. If you do things rights you’ll see results. Like Clemson said, don’t look for the quick fix. This site is a gold mine. Welcome, and do some reading.
According to what I’ve seen Charlie say, the hill you use should be a very gentle slope, maybe 1-3 degrees. Use a steep slope and you risk altering your stride, and thus learning poor technique.
