help before season starts

My question is if anyone can tell me what i should be doing my last 2-3 weeks before the football season starts. Im thinking i shouldnt be doing heavy weights at all for that time and just be doing light weights and maybe ramp up the full speed field work. I just want to go into the season at full power from all the training that took place during the off season.

I already have my in season program together, but would just like to know about those last 2-3 weeks before everything starts thanks

Well I know little about football but personally I would be resting up and reducing the intensity and volume of my training far enough out from the start of the season for me to be fresh (but still conditioned) going in. This length of time is all dependant on what you have been doing previously and how long you have been doing it.
