gpp questions for clarification??

the video shows that explosive med.ball work is done on tue, thur and saturday. so could my first gpp week look like this

mon-hills
tue-explosive med.ball
wed-hills
thurs-explosive med.ball
fri-hills
satur-explosive med.ball

I quess what i am thinking is that if these explosive med.ball workouts are counted as high intensity shouldnt these be done after hills at the same session and give cns a brake between hill days??
2.are these explosive med.ball workouts included at the first week of the gpp till the end?
3.when the trackwork is included at the week 5 there is sprints that starts at “from flat on 6*10” what this means?

  1. The idea is that you are spreading the CNS stress. Since there is no maximal lifting and the sprints are on hills (not as fast so not as intense on the CNS) you can put certain lifts and medball work on days opposite of sprinting.

As it’s early days and as Davan said, you can afford to do so…

I would introduce this kind of work later on along with those drills of more relevance and as you suggest perhaps on the same day.

Flat means face down on the track; it should be displayed in one of the first track drills of the athlete.

Hope it helps!

But arent there also tempos on tuesday, thu, sat ?

So you have explosive med ball, tempos, lower weights at one day???

yep in the early weeks to spread cns stress and since u r during hills and they are not as stressful of the cns.
