Getting faster at 25??

That does not make sense, so you are saying that with a 6.27 55m and 10.2x 100m that is a top speed of .88 - .91.

Suppose he went through 55m at the pb of 6.27 in route to a 10.2x (which most likely wouldnt be the case). If he held your projected .88 (fast-end project for his top speed) at exactly 55m and held that .88 the rest of the race he would still only be running a 10.23. Holding top speed for all of 45 meters, while also running a pb to 55 meters.

Assuming he instead goes slightly above pb at 6.30 in route to a 100 where he is at your projected .91 top speed and holds top speed for 2 10m segements followed by a dip of .02 and .03 over the last 2 segments he is now running 10.44 which is a much more likely running scenario and not near a 10.2x

Obviously his top speed is quicker than .88 if he is running 10.2x and 6.27 to 55m. Also gauged by the fact that he has already used timing measures to show he runs fasther than that.

Well I will run a timed 60 at UK January the 12th. I guess we will then see how accurate our conversions are lol. I am excited about it though because it is so early and I basically pr’d by about .08 in the 60. With three solid weeks of training I hope to improve on the time. Thanks for the discussion guys. Oh by the way I will also run my first 200 in forever. I am really hoping to run 20.9x indoor but time will tell.

So I ran this past weekend and ran a 6.64 60meter and a 21.10 200meter. I am satisfied with those as a season opener. I am going try and not go to abunch of meets just focus on training 3 weeks at a time then at the end of a training cycle schedule another meet. I really want to improve on thse the next time I am on the track and it takes good training to do so.

congrats man.

Awesome time, well done!

…unless 6.27 (55m) wasn’t at PB level for him.

obviously if it is the only time he ran it it was the fastest he ran it, and hence a PB.

PB=Personal Best and that was a personal best

his other 60 times before that were slower and he predicted aroudn 6.66 and ran 6.64 I think thats a good indiction.

Good run, Are you really gearing toward indoor or outdoor season. IF it is indoor do you want to miss that many meets? If outdoor then I understand. I hate indoor .

Yo Dallas…great progress there man…did you make it over to the UK in the end?

You keep doing your thing man…awesome time you ran there dude.

Thanks ya’ll. I am gearing up for outdoor. Specifically the 100. I haven’t ran anything all out over 40 meters in training yet so I haven’t actually touched any speed at all. I am excited for sure. I would love to run 10.0x’s this season. I should based on that performance be able to walk out on the track and be in 10.15 type shape right now… not touching speed at all. We’ll see it’s all in theory until it happens.

Awesome run Dallas. Keep up the great work.

Curious, given Dallas is a powerful sprinter using a S-L program, what time would you estimate he came through the 55m mark in when he ran 10.33e into the strong headwind? How would you translate this into equivalent 55m and 60m performance levels in still conditions?

Dude, I dont know, I havent seen video of that race, I dont think he video taped it. There was no wind reading.

All I know is he has a very strong second 50m from seeing him run once this past summer. And even the video of this last 60m shows that he is very strong at the end of the race without even training that aspect.

I cant translate a time its speculation like anything else. If you want to speculate thats fine.

Ah I see!! UK = University of Kentucky…

Not United Kingdom…lol…:o

Just watched your race. That is a good time. With your height if you can stay relaxed and not use too much energy you can really achieve that 10.0x or less in the summer. Avoid the treadmills if you can though! Just remember to stay relaxed and let the times come to you.

Good luck!

I am excited for sure… How come you say avoid the treadmill if I can? Not that I disagree just curious as to what your reasoning is. I use the treadmill now primarily for once a week highspeed 30% hill runs and nothing else. I usually also only do 4 sets at 4-6 seconds now. Mike Young from HPC has taken over my workouts as far as making them for me. I like it a lot because it just allows me to focus on training instead of creating a training plan/ weights/ recovery then implimenting it.

He is also a S/ L coach which helps me mentally a lot as far as believing in what I am doing.

Hey does anyone know how duel citizenship works. My G/F is a citizen of Great Britan. If we were to get married I would also recieve citizenship… could I actually run for them?

Just an off the wall question. Sorry

http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/britishcitizenship/

I am assuming you are talking about for the olympics, which if you actually became dual citizen you would be allowed to compete for either country. I dont know much about citizenship requirements, but make sure your running for the country you want and that both allow dual citizenship for your case. Dont want to have to wait like Lagat.

You got the right guy implementing your workouts.

I am sure the treadmill is such a factor due to the weather in your area right?

If you could run 10.0x and have UK citizenship they would give you $60,000 a year and a car. You could also run european meets and make at least $100,000 a year with those kinds of times. Run 9 anything and they would probably make you a Lord and you’d be looking at 100 of thousands of dollars a year!
