Getting faster at 25??

Perhaps you should propose to the girl now :stuck_out_tongue:

[Iā€™m European too. Lets meet  :stuck_out_tongue: ]

but donā€™t you have to have at least think you can ride a motorbike 2 days before OG to compete for your country :stuck_out_tongue:

oh shush, donā€™t negatively influence the guyā€¦

iā€™m curious abotu the treadmill, doing tempo in cold ass weather can really be a chore, isnā€™t treadmill okay twice a week or something. I have done it this and last week with no effect on my technique out in teh track. Should i really be worried in the long run?

No you shouldnā€™t be worriedā€¦Iā€™ve used the treadmill successfully for tempo sessionsā€¦but thereā€™s nothing better than a tempo session on grass to really open up the lungs. Mixing it up is fine.

Just found out next weekend i have to go to Arkansas to compete at a meet. I may be ranked top 5 in the World as far as time but because I donā€™t have much performance history I have to post more times to get on the top 25 IAAF rankings. Itā€™s a crazy ranking system like Nascar. Sucks. Oh well I hear its a good track

Great running BTW. Arkansas will be great. Itā€™s the track from the Indoor Worlds that was held in Toronto in 1993.

Just read through your log for the first time. A wonderful revelation. Your intuitive training decisions have been very smart. Donā€™t lose that insight into yourself, it will serve you well throughout your career.

Itā€™s exciting to follow at relatively close range the options and processes youā€™re going with and your resourcefulness. Best wishes for this Olympic season and when you make headlines elsewhere, Iā€™m sure I share the hopes of others on this board that you will continue posting here. Great video btw.

Thanks so much on the responses. I am alone at this in Kentucky and have no one to really bounce thoughts/ advice off of other than my new coach that lives in New York and I just picked him up a couple weeks ago.

At first I was bummed about the Arkansas meet but I am excited now. I have no clue how to run on a banked track though. I am going to train through the meet as if I would any other midseason meet. I may try and rest a few days before USA indoors to PR again. I am trying to get ranked top 25 IAAF so I can get on the Homedepot program. The have a program where you work 20 hours and they pay you as if though you are full time. I am currently working 7:00am to 6:30 pm and then training other athletes from 7:00 to 9:00 then myself from 9:00-11:00 I get back home a lot of nights after midnight and get up at 6:00. Not the best of situations buT i am counting my blessings for what I do haveā€¦

Charlie thanks for reading and because you said the track is fast I no doubt will prā€¦ lol

 that makes your achievements to date even more remarkable.

For the 60m, just keep doing what youā€™re doing.
Hopefully, with last weeks 200m time, you will get an outside lane. ā€˜Pro-westā€™ banking is extremely fast. Go, go like hell down the first bank and into the backstraight. Do NOT adjust for the next corner- just run straight for the wall and the banking on the track will do it all for you! If you try to set up, you will end up sitting back and getting pushed down into the corner. Also, if you see anyone coming up on you from the inside, thatā€™s just the banking and when you come down from the higher hill youā€™re on, you will shoot past them again down the home straight. good luck!

How awesome is Charlieā€¦

Good Luck in races

Good luck Drob, hope you meet all of your goals and more!

such good advice. The 200 is on day one of the meet so I will be 100% fresh for it. I will take all of your advice and roll it over in my head, visualize it. I am confident that 20.8-.9 is not out of the question. Thansk again for the advice everyone. I will no doubt keep yaā€™ll posted on the results. Time to shock the world!

Awesome stuff man, love following the STW tour (shock the world tour).

Great start Dallas.

and you have the fastest time, but on an ā€œOversized Trackā€ on

Does this mean the oversized track was a full 400m indoor?

yeah the track that was oversized was a 297. Depending on lane from what I understand itā€™s the same as a decent banked track. But yeah overall it is as of now the fastest time. I am sure this weekend others will run faster I am just excited to be in the mix

What lane did you have for the 200? Also keep us posted when you know your lane in the 200 for Arkansas. good luck

Best of luck to you Dallas, You have a great story, I wish US T&F had a program to subsidize your income to allow you to train full time and probably more importantly rest and recover full time. We have a program in the US Army called the world class athletic program (WCAP) which allows you to train full time, a friend of mine used to run a few years ago, headquartered in Colorado Springs, CO. Too close to the Olympics to get in to now, as you have to complete basic Army training first.

Start a link to donation fund, I would give to it.

Best,
Charlie

My lane at UK I believe was 4.

And thanks for the support. I have decided if indeed I am to run full time then a sponsor will come toā€¦ and if not then I am not designed to run full time as a pro. I am going to continue to train part time and try and see what happens. I have faith that what ever does happen that it will be amazing.

Besides without all this hard work and sacrifice I wouldnā€™t appreciate the blessings when they do occur. If a mountain werenā€™t rough then we couldnā€™t climb it huh.

Hey bye the way my Spike TV show Proā€™s vs Joeā€™s airs 11:00 est on the 24th. I get demolished by Kurt Angel in a 3 minute fight on national TV. Funny stuff watch and make fun!
