Flying 20m

Charlie, Clemson, xlr8, etc.

When running flying sprints I understand that the initial acceleration is to be smooth.

My question is: Do you accelerate to the flying start point and hold that speed? Or do you smoothly accelerate to the flying start point and at that point really try to increase speed, i.e. pour the coals on?

Thanks,

Brooke

Once you are at top speed, if you try to go faster, you will tie up and actually go slower. So the way I run them is to do a nice smooth acceleration to top speed, then just try to stay relaxed and step over through the flying zone.

xlr8,

Thanks for clearing that up!
