FinishLynx

alright i need to eat dinner, but here’s a start to the post i promised. I was able to lower my times in the 55m from 7.28 to 6.67 in one year. The following year i opened up with a 6.67 in december, then later pulled my hamstring since then, i havent broke 6.79 and haven’t worked with the Lynx strating system either. For those of you who think the hamstring was a factor, it hasn’t been. I’ve improved in the 100m and 200m and in top end speed overall. but my start is definately not what it used to be, i’m hoping to fix that next year and drop under 6.5 in the 55m. I’ll be back in 20minutes.

Tell your mother I said Hi!!!

haha, i will

lol.

I’m curious has anyone else out there worked with the system or heard anything about it. When i was using it no one had one, i was probably the only high schooler working with it. but i’m sure many have used it by now.

any luck finding the link?

Are you speaking of REACTIME, Speed Trap or other fully automatic timing apparatus?

can someone explain to me how a device which times how fast you run, is going to make me faster or stronger? I have a hard time swallowing if this is a good investment

I don’t think it will be any great help to the start but it makes interesting reading. I posted some info on this on the old forum.

If you want to improve your start, get stronger, get your angles right and focus solely on your lead arm. Once you’ve done this, the use the Reactime system to tell you what you already know

dcw23 I know the guy who makes these things, extremely nice guy by the way…react times are sold more too highschool, colleges, and events such as world-class/grand prix races where there is need to detect false starts. Look at the blocks they use in the olympics. They dont need individuals to buy these things. Nor do I believe this is the main purpose for why they were created for. I was the first walk-in ever to buy one at finishlynxx. I’m happy with it and my start is blazing! So is 55mkento’s start. So is penguins. They sell these blocks all over the world. Trust me.

i agree with Tim. It doesn’t just detect reaction time, but power as well. These results can be graphed so you can actually observe what you are doing right from the gun, up to when you actually react anywhere from .1 to .3 or slower i guess.
