What do you guys think of double sessions? I know some guys who go to the track during the day and do weights in the evening- Mon - Friday and rest on weekends. That’s 10 seesions a week. Is that ok?
Ther’s no reason not to do split sessions. It should be a means of increasing recovery- providing travel issues don’t take up more energy than you could gain. For most people, split sessions work best in a training camp setting, where the work-load is high and travel is nil to minimal.
Charlie, how much time do you one should wait before starting their second session?
Would like to see a separation of 4 hrs at least.
does it matter which comes 1st, tempo, speed or weights??
generally i would do upper body weight b4 my tempo runs and on speed days i would do speed 1st (b/c your charged up and ready to explode) then lower body weights. So is keeping this routine on double sessions ok or should it be changed to something more specific, what do you think charlie?
